LWC Singers perform at Kennedy Center for Performing Arts

The Chamber Ensemble within the Lindsey Wilson College Singers was one of six groups to perform in the "We Have a Dream Choral Festival" this month in Washington, DC.

Dr. Gerald Chafin, Associate Professor of Music and Director of Choral Programs, said, "The festival performance was given in the magnificent concert hall of the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts and recognized the 60th anniversary of the Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s historic speech in 1963."

All the music of the concert gave significant emphasis to the civil rights era.

The large poster in the accompanying photo was given to the LWC Singers Chamber Ensemble by Music Celebrations International and the festival's artistic director, Dr. Eugene Rogers.

The keepsake, autographed poster reads:
"We Have A Dream Choral Festival, Sunday, June 18, 2023, 2 pm, The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts Concert Hall, Eugene Rogers, Artistic Director. Featuring singers from Detrolt School of the Arts Choir, Ebony Chorale of the Palm Beaches, Festival Chorus of Michiana, Kalamazoo Children's Chorus, Lindsey Wilson College Singers, Ridgefleld Chorale.
