Oval Ray Hopper, 91, Dunnville, KY (1932-2023) Oval Ray Hopper, of Dunnville, passed away Saturday, June 17, 2023, at the VA Medical Center in Lexington. He was 91 years of age. Born February 24, 1932, in Russell County, he was a son of the late William Effrey and Rena Pearl Tucker Hopper. Oval served honorably in the United States Army and was a member of Russell Springs First Baptist Church. Along with being a farmer, he was a former employee of Alligator Boat Dock. Oval loved his grandchildren and enjoyed taking care of his yard. Survivors include one son, Larry Ray Hopper of Dunnville; one daughter, Linda Holtzclaw of Russell Springs; two grandchildren, Jeremy (and Stacy) Hopper and Kim Hopper Foley, both of Russell Springs; three great-grandchildren, Grayson Foley, Madison Hopper, and Adalyn Hopper; one great-grandchild on the way, Carly Ray Hopper; and a special nephew, Wayne (and Kwi) Stephens of Macon, Georgia. In addition to his parents, Oval was preceded in death by his wife, Dortha Mae Chumbley Hopper, who passed away December 31, 2006; three brothers, Jason Hopper, J.B. Hopper, and Cova Hopper; and six sisters, Olma West, Olga Tucker, Olza Hopper, Vontrice Cooper, Olva Ree Hopper, and Avelene Hopper. Funeral services are 1pmET Wednesday, June 21, 2023, at Bernard Funeral Home, with Brother Carroll Egnew officiating. Burial will follow in Holt Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-8:00 P.M. on Tuesday, June 20, 2023. Pallbearers are Jeremy Hopper, Wayne Stephens, Brad Redmon, Brian Redmon, Josh Martin and AJ Martin.
