LWC finishes 30th in Learfield Directors' Cup Standings

On Tuesday afternoon, the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) announced the final standings for the 2022-23 Learfield Directors' Cup.

The award is presented annually to an institution in the NCAA's three divisions and the NAIA that accumulates the most points throughout the school year. Points are awarded based on each institution's finish in 13 sports during their national championships. The NAIA must count four sports -- men's and women's basketball, men's soccer, and volleyball -- with the remaining nine coming from any of the remaining championship sports.

With 496.0 total points, Lindsey Wilson finished 30th overall and fourth among Mid-South Conference schools, marking the 19th consecutive top-30 placement in program history.

The Blue Raiders scored in nine sports this past school year, including three in each season - fall, winter, and spring.

Men's soccer, football, and women's soccer tallied 83, 60, and 25 points, respectively, to help Lindsey Wilson finish highest in the conference for the fall season with 168.0 total points.

Men's and women's swimming led the way for the winter sports followed by wrestling. Then, men's golf, women's tennis, and men's tennis all contributed points in the spring.

Indiana Institute of Technology captured its first Learfield Directors' Cup by topping the NAIA field with 867.50 total points.

University of the Cumberlands paced the Mid-South with a sixth-place effort, while Cumberland University and Campbellsville University also ended up inside the top 30 with 25th and 29th-place finishes, in that order.
