Bobbie Jean Burks, 79, Russell County, KY (1944-2023) Bobbie Jean Burks, of Russell Springs, passed away on Sunday, June 11, 2023 in Liberty. She was 79 years of age. Born in the Bryan Community, of Russell County, on March 24, 1944, she was a daughter of the late Robert William and Jewell Edith Hill Bunch. Bobbie was a faithful member of Bethesda Community Fellowship Church, where she taught Sunday School for nearly 20 years. She was a former employee at Sutton Shirt Factory and later, Fair Oaks Health and Rehabilitation, working as a CNA. Bobbie is survived by her sister, Kim (and John) Stivers of Russell Springs; her brothers, Lonnie (and Wanda) Bunch of Russell Springs, and Donnie Bunch of Franklin, Indiana; and a host of nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Bobbie is preceded in death by her husband, Phillip Wayne Burks, who passed away on September 29, 2014; her son, Kevin Burks; her brother, Larry Bunch; and her sister, Geraldine "Jerry" Stephens. Funeral services are 1pm Tuesday, June 13, 2023, at Bernard Funeral Home, with Brother Billy Dunbar officiating. Burial will follow in Rexroat Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 10:30am until time of services. Pallbearers are Jamie Bunch, Greg Bennett, Charles Hale, Connor Hale, Brently Anderson, and John Stivers.
