Jeanette Jones, 86, Columbia, KY native (1936-2023)

Jeanette (Ingram) Jones of Columbus, Ohio, formerly of Adair County, died Friday, May 12, 2023 at Mt. Carmel East Hospital in Columbus, Ohio. She was 86 years old.

The funeral service will be held at 1pmCT on Sunday, May 21, 2023, at Grissom-Martin Funeral Home, 200 Campbellsville Street, Columbia, KY, with Rev. Howard Britt delivering the Eulogy. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery.

Jeanette was born November 2, 1936, in Columbia, KY, the youngest child of Sallie O. Patterson and Theron B. Ingram. She accepted Christ and was baptized at an early age. She attended and graduated from Jackman High School in Columbia, Kentucky, May of 1955. She was married soon after high school to Russell Jones, a soldier in the United States Air Force, stationed in multiple states and several countries overseas while raising an ever growing family with 5 children. After lovingly raising her children Jeanette pursued a career with The Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles where she retired after 20 years of exemplary service, earning multiple awards and recognition for her dedicated work.

Soon after retiring with her children grown Jeanette and Russell purchased their first luxury item, an RV, and travelled extensively across the country celebrating with family and friends from coast to coast. This adventure ended when Russell went home to Our Lord October of 2017. Jeanette then continued to serve as Matriarch to her family in Ohio providing unconditional love and support to all until her last day.

Jeanette lived her entire life putting family and friends before herself. She lived modestly and humbly by choice. To be witness to this was truly amazing.

Jeanette often stated, "The only thing I really want is for her family to live a life of love and to always do the next right thing in the name of our Lord and savior.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a grandchild, Allan Truman.
