Golf: LWC Men at NAIA Championship

Mesa, AZ - The Lindsey Wilson men's golf team opened play on Tuesday at the NAIA National Championship at Las Sendas Golf Club. The Blue Raiders currently sit tied for eighth after completing their first round. The rest of the first round was delayed to Wednesday morning due to weather.

The Blue Raiders carded a 5-over par 293 on the par-72 5,004 yard course.


Callum Waugh posted the best Lindsey Wilson finish in round one. Waugh shot a 4-under 68 in the first round and is tied for the lead. He carded three birdies with one bogey on the front-nine and recorded two birdies on the back nine.

Ivan Ninkovic shot a 74 in the first round and is tied for 43rd. Rio Saigal carded a 75 and recorded an eagle on the 10th hole and is tied for 54th. Sebastian Sandin and Janik Hawlitzky round out the Lindsey Wilson scoring with a 76 and 77, respectively. Sandin is tied for 69th while Hawlitzky is tied for 84th.

The Blue Raiders are scheduled to tee off at 2:50pmCT Wednesday in the second round.
