Steve Durrett, 68, Green County, KY (1954-2023) Joseph Stephen "Steve" Durrett of Green County, Kentucky, son of the late Rev. Ancil "Bug" Durrett and Wilma Hall Durrett, was born on Tuesday, June 29, 1954 in Louisville, Kentucky and departed this life on Thursday, May 11, 2023 in Elizabethtown. He was 68 years, 10 months, and 12 days of age. He had made a profession of faith in Christ, was a deacon and member of the Oak Forest Cumberland Presbyterian Church. He was a retired Conservation Technician for Natural Resource Conservation Service and was a farmer. He sang bass and played guitar for the Gospel Singing Durrett Family and loved to hunt and fish. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Tammy Larimore Durrett on June 20, 2000 having united in marriage on April 2, 1983. He later united in marriage and is survived by his wife: Stella Curry Durrett of Green County having united on December 27, 2008. Other survivors include his daughter and son-in-law: Andrea and Ashley Shuffett of Greensburg; a son and daughter-in-law: Stephen Blake and Whitney Durrett of Hodgenville; step-children: Cecile and Kyle Bloyd of Greensburg, and Josh Wright and fiance, Deidra of Elizabethtown; seven grandchildren: Corbin Shuffett, Mollie Shuffett both of Greensburg, Edison Durrett, Ren Durrett both of Hodgenville, Kynslee Bloyd, Kree Bloyd, and Kaden Bloyd all of Greensburg; a brother and sister-in-law: Mike and Judy Durrett of Summersville; brother-in-law and sister-in-law: Ronnie Bishop and Marla Durrett both of Greensburg; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Mr. Durrett was also preceded in death by two brothers and a sister: Donnie Durrett, Troy Durrett, and Sharon Bishop. The funeral services will be conducted at 2pmCT Sunday, May 14, 2023 at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Wilson Cemetery. Bro. Blake Durrett, Bro. Ashley Shuffett, and Bro. Greg Whitlow officiating. The family has asked that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the Gideon Bible Fund or the Wilson Cemetery which can be made at the funeral home.
