Donnie Odell Houk, 76, Greensburg, KY (1946-2023)

Donnie Odell Houk of Greensburg departed this life on Thursday, May 11, 2023 at the T.J. Sampson Hospital in Glasgow. He was 76 years old.

The funeral services for Donnie Odell Houk will be conducted at 1pmCT on Saturday, May 13, 2023 at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home, 206 S. Main St., Greensburg, KY, with Bro. Darrell Landis officiating. Burial will follow in the Lee Cemetery.

Visitation is requested after 11amCT on Saturday at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home until time of the funeral service.


Donnie Odell Houk, son of the late Duluth Odell Houk and Mildred Geneva Houk, was born on Friday, November 1, 1946 in Green County.

He made a profession of faith in Christ and attended Riverside Baptist Church. Mr. Houk was a self-employed Autobody Repair technician for many years.

Survived by his wife, Rose Rita Rogers Houk of Greensburg having united in marriage on September 9, 1967.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law: Timothy Odell and Deanna Houk of Horse Cave; four grandchildren: Kaula Terry of North Carolina, Aspen Eimen of Horse Cave, David Jacoby of Nashville, and Jeffrey Kennedy of Georgia; ten great-grandchildren: DaeDae, Aiden, Jacob, Amber, Kadence, Jaxton, Colton, Fallon, Lola, and Wyatt; a sister and brother-in-law: Christie and John Shofner of Campbellsville; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Mr. Houk was also preceded in death by two brothers: Mike Houk and Jackie Houk.

The family has asked that expressions of sympathy take form of donations to the Kosair for Kids of Louisville, which can be made at the funeral home.
