Glenn Francis LaFond, 79, Columbia, KY (1944-2023) Glenn Francis LaFond of Columbia went to be with the Lord on May 6, 2023, at the age of 79. Funeral service will be held at 11amCT on Wednesday, May 10, 2023, at Bearwallow Methodist Church, 6090 Liberty Road, Columbia, KY, officiated by Chaplain Caleb LaFond. Interment will follow in the Bearwallow Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4pmCT to 8pmCT on Tuesday, May 9, 2023, at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, 210 Greensburg Street, Columbia, KY; and on Wednesday from 9:30amCT until service time at Bearwallow United Methodist Church. For the past twenty years, Glenn served as a pastor in various churches around Kentucky. He will be remembered for his joyful personality, his eagerness to serve others, and for the lengthy closing of each of his sermons. He was happiest when he was helping others, whether visiting residents in the nursing home, leading church activities, or welcoming people into his home. The effects of his commitment to his churches, his communities, his neighbors, and his friends will be felt for generations to come. Glenn is survived by his loving wife of eight years, Mary (Curry) LaFond; children John (Becky) LaFond, Judy LaFond (Mike Craig), Tom (Melissa) LaFond, BJ LaFond, Isaac (Kristen) LaFond, Caleb (Anna-Catherine) LaFond, Josh (Diana) LaFond, and Drew (Hayley) Curry; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews, as well as his sister Patricia (John) Langland. He was preceded in death by his wife, Susanne (Jolley) LaFond; his mother, Doris (Mel) Duensing; his father Glenn LaFond; and his brothers Wray LaFond and Leslie LaFond. Pallbearers will be Isaac LaFond, Caleb LaFond, Josh LaFond, Mark Curry, Drew Curry, and Doug Campbell. Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
