Wendell was born in Ella, Kentucky on November 8, 1944, to the late Aubrey Neat and Heloise Collins Neat. Wendell was a hard worker and worked for 35 years for General Electric. He was born and raised on a farm in Adair county where faith was a huge part of his and his family's life. He was baptized in Bryant's Creek right behind his home at a young age. He also loved to play baseball with his brothers and friends. Later in life after he had children of his own, he coached baseball and softball with his son and daughter and traveled and coached softball with various teams. After retiring he continued to work at the ballpark he loved (Okolona Little League) keeping the fields cut and groomed, it gave him great joy. Wendell was an amazing husband, son, dad, brother, and PA (what his grandchildren called him). He sacrificed a lot for his family, and he will be truly missed by them and all who knew him.

He leaves behind his loving wife of 59 years, Phyllis Neat, daughter, Angela Brown (Chad), son Barry Neat, grandchildren, Zachary Neat, Aubrey Stopher, Addison Stopher, brothers, Randall Neat (Fannie), Kenneth Neat (Sheila), and sister, Bea Watson (Fred), and host of nieces, nephews, and other dear family and friends.
