11th Annual HGR Spring Plow Day is Saturday From Lyn Stanton Take a step back in time and join us for the 11th annual Spring Plow Day from 9amET until 5pmET on Saturday, April 29, 2023 at Homeplace on Green River, 5807 Columbia Road, Campbellsville, KY. Admission is just $20 per vehicle. You'll see teams of mules and horses showing off their plowing skills followed by a log skidding competition. There will be an antique tractor show, a chainsaw sculpture artist, and hay rides. We'll have craft vendors selling amazing hand and homemade items like delicious chocolate candies and fudge, delectably scented candles, goat's milk soaps, beautiful beaded jewelry, wood cutting boards and bowls, and more. We'll have people demonstrating things like flint knapping, tanning, and lard rendering. Kids can ride the kiddie barrel train, and families can take a guided hike to the Cave Spring trail. We'll have pony rides for little kids, and horse rides for bigger kids. Learn about raising rabbits from the Rabbit Association! There will be live music in the Bank Barn and great food all day from wonderful local vendors. The Taylor County 4H Livestock Club will host activities for kids and adults. Learn about their chicken project at Homeplace and pet lots of adorable animals. Kids can run a "chicken coop relay", take the straw bale toss challenge, and play "cow patty" tossing.
