Opal Lea Wood, Campbellsville, KY Opal Lea Wood of Campbellsville died at 2:20 P.M., Wednesday, April 19, 2023. There will be a private graveside service at Brookside Cemetery in Campbellsville. Opal Lea Wood, daughter of the late Earl E. Cox and Flossie Ella Cave Cox, was born in Taylor County, Kentucky. She professed her faith in Christ and was a member of Meadowview Baptist Church. Opal was a retired employee of Fruit of the Loom in Campbellsville. She is survived by two daughters and one son: Shiela Newcomb and husband, Sam of Frankfort, Sharon Arrowood and husband, Henry of Smyrna, Tennessee and Steve Wood and companion, DeLisa Patterson of Campbellsville; five grandchildren: Ryan Newcomb and wife, Ashley of Frankfort, Daniel Arrowood and wife, Kristy and April Sneed and husband, David of Smyrna, Tennessee, Brittany Wood-Perkins and husband, Isaiah, Ashley Thomas and husband, Brandon of Campbellsville; great-grandchildren: Elle Newcomb, Claudia Newcomb, Sawyer Arrowood, Amity Parker and Brylee Sneed and several other great-grandchildren and many other relatives and friends. The family would like to thank the staff and employees of Grandview Nursing and Rehab for their care and compassion during their mother's stay. Expressions of sympathy requested to be donations to Brookside Cemetery Associaton and be made at Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
