Tennis: LWC kicks off postseason play in MSC Tournament The Lindsey Wilson men's and women's tennis team prepares to start their post-season play, beginning Friday at the Warren County Tennis & Sports Facility at Buchanon Park in Bowling Green, Kentucky. The men's side was awarded the No. 3 seed while the women's secured the No. 2 seed for the tournament. The women are set for competition at 3pmCT, and the men kick off play at 6:30pmCT. The Blue Raider men will take on the Firehawks of Tennesee Southern at 6:30 p.m. CST, having already beaten them in a resounding 6-1 victory on March 7. UTS enters the tournament as the No. 6 seed holding a 12-9 overall record and an even 5-5 conference record. The Firehawks defeated eleven-seeded Shawnee State (OH), 4-1, on Thursday to advance to the Quarterfinal matchup. This will mark the first time these two squads have met in postseason play. The men hold an impressive 40-3 all-time record in the conference tournament, with this tournament being the first time the Blue Raiders have received the No. 3 seed. The Lindsey Wilson women will take on No. 7 Bethel (TN) at 3 p.m. CST, coming into the matchup with a 10-9 overall record. The Wildcats advanced to the quarter-finals with a 4-0 sweep over tenth-seeded Pikeville (KY). The Blue Raiders have already defeated this opponent earlier in the season, with a dominant 6-1 victory on March 16. The women garnered the No. 2 seed in the tournament, holding a perfect 5-0 record under that seed, and making this the sixth time in program history they have received that seeding.
