NICKEL SCHOOL TAX COMMENT: CWC Principal Patty Jones shares why she favors it

The vote on the proposed nickel school tax comes up on December 6th. Between now and then, we welcome comments to help give voters the full picture of why it is proposed and what it will do if it passes. Below are comments with links to photos from Col. William Casey Elementary Principal Patty Jones.
"As principal of Col. Wm. Casey I feel we have a wonderful school. Howeverthe building that houses our school is not so wonderful. We have anantiquated sewer system that backs up on a regular basis, a roof that leakseverytime it rains, a heating and cooling system that is in constant need ofrepair, an electrical system that is decades behind its level of need forthe 21st Century and a building that is way beyond its capacity for studentsthat forces us to have classes in hallways and closets.

The powerpoint that you can access at Casey's website gives you just a peekat some of the needs at Casey.

"Without additional funding this building cannot be replaced or renovated. This means no new roof, sewer system, HVAC, or wiring. The passage of thenickel tax can provide adequate facilities for the 600 students we strive toeducate in a safe environment everyday."
