Wanda Dell Long, 77, Greensburg, KY (1946-2023) Wanda Dell Long of Greensburg departed this life on Friday, April 14, 2023 at the Taylor Regional Hospital. She was 77 years old. The funeral services for Wanda Dell Long will be conducted at NoonCT on Saturday, April 22, 2023 at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home, 206 S. Main St., Greensburg, KY, with Bro. Michael Daukas officiating. Burial will follow in the Bethlehem Cemetery. Visitation is requested from 4pmCT until 8pmCT on Friday at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home, and will continue after 7amCT on Saturday until time of the funeral service. Wanda Dell Long, daughter of the late Aubrey H. Paxton and Nora Dell Franklin Paxton Boone, was born on Tuesday, January 15, 1946 in Green County. She was of the Baptist faith, a self-employed photographer, a substitute schoolteacher for the Green County School system, and worked at Fruit of the Loom for 34 years. She was united in marriage on November 10, 1962 to Jerry Nell Long, who preceded her in death on December 16, 2020. Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law: Jason "Pedro" and Patricia Long of Richmond; six grandchildren: Dusty Long, Elliott Long, Erin Long, Ashlee Long, Kelsey Zwicker, and Emily Long; eight great-grandchildren: Blatyn Cooper, Laidyn Long, Kyleiah Cox, Jaxon Long, Hazel Grace, Iris June, Wyatt, Kahlil Buckner; a brother and sister-in-law: Charles and Pat Paxton of North Carolina; a special aunt: Lottie Curtis; and a host of other relatives and friends. Wanda was also preceded in death by two sons: Jerry Dewayne "Dee" Long on July 11, 1995 and, Robert Allen "Robbie" Long on December 27, 2012; a brother: Hubert Paxton. The family has asked that expressions of sympathy take form of donation to the Green County Athletic Department, which can be made at the funeral home. Pallbearers: Chad Paxton, Beau Paxton, Steven Paxton, Scott Paxton, Jonathan Paxton, Rob Bell, Ronnie Foley Honorary Pallbearers: Grandchildren and Great-grandchildren Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
