New Survey: Is Adair County headed in the right direction? Smoking ban poll today is about same ratio as smokers/non-smokers. Readers have access to all past polls A new ColumbiaMagazine.com poll asks, "Is Adair County headed in the right direction?" It's an attempt to guage the optimism Adair Countians have today. Readers can still express their opinions in all past polls. The poll on banning smoking in public places this morning stood at about the same ratio as non-smokers to smokers. Jelaine Phillips of the Lake Cumberland Health Department reports that a 2003 study found 31% of Adair County adults smoke. A check of the poll as it stood this morning, Friday, November 18, 2005, found that 32.59% of the participants are against a smoking ban in public places in Adair County, while 62.96% favor such a ban; and 4.44% are minding their own business on the subject.
