Frances Griffin Benningfield, 94, Campbellsville, KY (1928-2023)

Frances Griffin Benningfield of Campbellsville died at 3:15 A.M., Sunday, April 16, 2023. She was 94 years old.

The funeral service will be held at 11amET on Tuesday, April 18, 2023 at Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home, 418 Lebanon Ave., Campbellsville, KY, officiated by Bro. Ronnie Dooley. Burial will follow in Campbellsville Memorial Gardens.

Visitation is requested from 9amET until 11amET on Tuesday, April 18, 2023 at Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home.


Frances Griffin Benningfield, daughter of the late Edwin Griffin and Susie Caulk Griffin, was born in Campbellsville on June 13, 1928.

She professed her faith in Christ and was a dedicated member of Elkhorn Methodist Church for more than fifty-eight years.

Frances was a former employee of Fruit of the Loom where she was the second shift cafeteria manager. She loved being with her family and was always ready for a road trip. She enjoyed her flowers and began each day with two chocolate kisses; she had quite a sweet tooth. Frances was a fifty-eight year cancer survivor.

She united in marriage to Nolan Herald Benningfield July 13, 1965 and he preceded her in death December 12, 1996.

Frances is survived by one son and one daughter: John Benningfield and wife, Debbie and Nola Gaddis and husband, Ritchie of Campbellsville; three grandchildren: Jessica Childs and husband, Rich, Faith Gaddis and Joshua Gaddis; one great-grandson, Jonathan Coppage; one daughter-in-law, Helen Benningfield and many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by a son, Jim Benningfield; two grandchildren: Jonathan Lyle Benningfield and Kristen Ann Benningfield and one sister, Helen Griffin Shofner.

Expressions of sympathy requested to be donations to Gideon Bibles or Elkhorn Methodist Church and be made at Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home.
