Chicago pizza By Big Al Owens A few weeks ago, my girlfriend Denise and I went north to the Windy City. On our visit we went to the best place for deep dish pizza, Uno's. It is located on the North side off of Wells Street. Uno's pizza is the birthplace of deep dish pizza in Chicago. Many people will notice that if you are not eating deep dish pizza that you can get a thin crust pizza that is cut in squares instead of pie cut. The reason this is, is because the taverns or bars in Chicago wanted to make a quick pizza for customers that could be served on a napkin instead of having to use a plate so they cut the pizza in squares which made it easier to serve. If you happen to visit Chicago, make sure that you get a pizza, whether it be deep dish or Chicago style thin crust because it is the best pizza in America.
