Paving scheduled in Columbia for next few months From Tiffany Collins City of Columbia As we enter the summer season, the City of Columbia would like to remind everyone to use caution in work zones as several projects and paving are scheduled. City streets scheduled to be paved include Will Walker Road, Appleby Drive, Pine Tree Street, Scott Street, Pyles Court, Meadowview Street, Heskamp Street, Tim Street, Hayes Street, Elm Drive, Moseley Drive, Wolford Avenue, Hindman Street, Alexander Drive, and Guthrie Street. Westlake Drive is scheduled to be paved through an application for Discretionary Funding. According to information from the District 8 Highway Department, the following are tentatively scheduled in our community: South 61 (Burkesville Street) from bypass, part of Cumberland Parkway at western end (Adair County), Tutt Street, Hudson Street, Jamestown Street, Kentucky 55 South (section). The City of Columbia urges the public to watch for details on the work and to avoid those areas if possible. There will be rerouting done for some traffic. There is also work being planned on sidewalks on Wall Street, Greensburg Street, and Campbellsville Street. "We appreciate the public's cooperation as these projects are being done," said Mayor Hoots. It is scheduled for completion this year. More details will be announced as the dates near.
