Two Columbia restaurants will be smoke free for the day for The Great American Smokeout. They are Wendy's and Long John Silver's, both located on Jamestown Street between Harvey Street and Tutt Street. They will display the bright pink posters which will identify "The Great American Smokeout" participating businesses.

Other restaurants may join the movement

According to Jelaine Phillips, Senior Health Educator at Lake Cumber District Health Department, 801 Westlake Drive, Columbia, KY, other restaurants are expected to join. "Another restaurant has told me they are almost sure to join, and I have two other places which are likely to join." These will be posted at ColumbiaMagazine.com if they should decide to participate.
Restaurants wishing to participate in The Great American Smokeout or who would like to learn more about the advantages of becoming smoke-free my contact Jelaine Phillips at 270-384-2286, Extension 221.
