ACJE tours pathways at Taylor County HS

By Adair County Judge Executive Larry Russell Bryant

Taylor County High School has capitalized on bringing business partners INTO their school to offer their students many career pathways including storefront-style shops, two bank partnerships, a boutique called "Fancy That", a Kroger store, culinary arts that caters lunches for boards, teachers, etc., mechatronics, cosmetology, a therapy center that services the students, if needed, as well as being a partner is the early childhood development pathway.

They also have a strong agriculture pathway, welding pathway, and a new facility for a career academy. They are remodeling an outdated school building and repurposing it for storefronts that will also serve the public! They are starting a construction pathway that has stemmed from a heavy equipment curriculum.

The principal and superintendent were so welcoming and offered to help us in any way! Thank you @tc_schools_ky for the time you invested in your neighboring county, and thank you Ms. Sarah Hatton and Ms. Michelle Neat from AC Board of Education for taking the time to tour with me!

Adair County is poised for great things! I look forward to the next SLP meeting at the extension office on March 7th. I invite our community to come out and join the conversation about the future direction of our school district.
