Casey Elementary Show Choir, ENCORE, to be in special performances The Col. Wm. Casey Elementary Show Choir, ENCORE, is kicking off the year with a bang. The group has been selected as one of the performance groups for the National Association for Gifted Children's annual convention in Louisville, KY, November 11, 2005. In addtion to this honor, the group will be performing around 9:00 a.m. at the annual Wal-Mart Veteran's Day Breakfast in at the Columbia Wal-Mart. The group is an auditioned ensemble compiled of third grade students from CWC. It is an honor and a committment from both students and parents to be included in the group. ENCOREis directed once again by Cyndi Crowder and members include: Mason Burton, Taylor Burton, Kyndal Caldwell, Dylan Conn, Logan Coomer, LaDanna Froedge, Tanner Garmon, Alexis Gibson, Tyler Haney, Mark Hutcheson, Cyera Jamison, Hunter Janes, Kelly Jones, Dylon Keith, Tyler Kimbler, Sarah McQuaide, Kelly Moss, Anna Murrell, Emily Overstreet, Farrah Phillips, Hallie Rooks, Jodessi Scholl, Malak Shanin, Amber Turner, Jonathan Vanarsdale, Timothy Watson. The first week of May the group will travel to Chicago to perform as a part of America Sings, a national festival for school choirs. This will be the second year for the group to participate. Last year the festival was in Washington, D.C. ENCORE will be raising funds for the trip throughout the year and have several performances already planned locally. Upcoming dates include a concert at the school on Sunday, December 4 as well as performances at Christmas in Columbia, and a Chamber of Commerce holiday event.
