Gilbert Blankenship, 75, Russell Springs, KY (1948-2023)

Gilbert Blankenship of Russell Springs died on Thursday, February 9, 2023 at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital in Somerset. He was 75 years old.

Funeral services for Gilbert Blankenship will be held at 2pmCT on Sunday, February 12, 2023, at Temple Hill Community Church in Jamestown, with Bro. Phillip Miller Officiating. Interment will follow in the Lawless Cemetery.

Visitation will be after 1pmCT on Sunday at Temple Hill Community Church.


He was a truck driver, had attended the Kentucky School of Mortuary Science in Louisville and was a Veteran of the United States Army.

He was the son of the late Martin Elbert and Betty Roosevelt Pierce Blankenship.

He is survived by:
  • 2 Sons: Derek Blankenship and Martin Blankenship both of Russell Springs, KY
  • 1 sister: Wilma Carman of Richmond, KY
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Edith Rippetoe, Maxine Antle, and Raydine Ray.
