Elmer (Hot Shot) Harris, 81, Greensburg, KY (1942-2023)

Frances Elmer "Hot Shot" Harris of Greensburg departed this life on Monday, February 6, 2023 at the Jane Todd Crawford Hospital. He was 81 years old.

Honoring his wishes, cremation was chosen. A memorial service for Elmer "Hot Shot" Harris will be held at NoonET on Thursday, February 9, 2023 at the Harris Memorial Chapel, 463 Highway 2008, Big Laurel, Kentucky 40808 in Harlan County.

Frances Elmer "Hot Shot" Harris, son of the late Ebert Harris and Pricilla Boggs Harris, was born on Monday, February 2, 1942 in Harlan County, Kentucky.

Mr. Harris had made a profession of faith in Christ and was of the Baptist faith. He was also a retired Assembly Line Inspector for the Ford Motor Company for 30 plus years. He worked in timber as a young boy, the coal mines and chicken factory.

Survived by his wife of 59 years, Sandra Lane Turner Harris of Greensburg, having united in marriage on June 3, 1963.

Other survivors include a daughter and son-in-law: Melody and Robert Ashmaed of Michigan; a son: Bradley Harris and his girlfriend, Christine Haddad both of Michigan; four grandchildren: Tyler Harris and wife, Kaylin, Martina Ashmaed Schmaltz, Michelle Ashmaed, and Christopher Ray Harris all of Michigan; five great-grandchildren: Trinity Ledington, Serenity Ledington, Christopher Michael Schmaltz, Zoie Harris, and Jax Harris; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Besides his parents, Mr. Harris was also preceded in death by a daughter: Sherry Martina Harris.
