Can anyone help us establish a Kentucky link to Wilson J. Barbee Pvt. Wilson J. Barbee was a war hero of the Confederacy. He was a recipient of the Confederate Congressional Medal of Honor. A Kentuckian, who may be a relative of Wilson J. Barbee, wants to establish a Kentucky link to the famous rebel warrior. Our source says that at the time Wilson J. Barbee enlisted, the normal option was for six months, but that Wilson J. Barbee joined "for the duration of the war." He was killed near Dandridge, TN, and was buried in the middle of the road which led to Morristown, TN, we are told. Any historian with leads or other information on Pvt. Barbee is invited to email to: ed@columbiamagazine.com or to send a Submission. This story was posted on 2005-11-03 05:16:47
