Treva Downey Ballou, 84, Columbia, KY (1938-2023) Treva Joyce Downey Ballou of Columbia passed away on Sunday, January 15, 2023, at Summit Manor Nursing Home. She was 84 years old. Funeral services will be held at NoonCT on Saturday, January 21, 2023, at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, 210 Greensburg St., Columbia, KY, with Bro. Darrell Coffey officiating. Burial will follow in the Haven Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be on Saturday after 8amCT at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home. She was born on March 11, 1938, in Milltown, KY to the late Owen and Edna Thomas Keltner. She was preceded in death by her husband's Kenneth "Buck" Downey and Albert Chandler "Happy" Ballou. Treva formerly attended the Bethany Baptist Church and was a retired Beautician after working for 55 years in the Adair County area. She was the first female Magistrate in Adair County serving District 5, while serving she was instrumental in getting gas lines and cable TV from Columbia to the Green County line and the building of the Annex and Regional Jail. Survivors include her son Kenneth "Kenny Buck" Downey (Dorlis) of Columbia, KY; three step grandchildren Danny Joe Powell and Marshall Allen Powell (Mary) both of Somerset, KY and Telenia Dobbs (Tracy) of Morgantown, KY; a special friend Jackie Ballou of Columbia and several other relatives and friends. Pallbearers will be Danny Powell, Dale Blackwell, Jason Curry, Michael Keltner, Chuck Rogers, and Colton Downey. Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
