Clarence H. (Todd) Gardner, 94, Green Co., KY (1928-2022)

Clarence Hayes "Todd" Gardner of Green County departed this life on Monday, December 26, 2022 at the Green Hill Rehab & Care Center. He was 94 years old.

The funeral services for Todd Gardner will be conducted at 1pmCT on Wednesday, December 28, 2022 at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home, 206 S. Main St., Greensburg, KY, with Bro. Garnett Wayne Davis officiating. Burial will follow in the Ladies Chapel Cemetery.

Visitation is requested after 11amCT on Wednesday at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home until time of the funeral service.

Clarence Hayes "Todd" Gardner, son of the late Earl Gardner and Stella Hay Gardner, was born on Tuesday, May 1, 1928 in Green County.

He had professed his faith in Christ early in life and was a faithful member of the Ladies Chapel United Methodist Church where he served on various committees. He was a lifelong farmer and tried to be a good steward of the land. His favorite saying: "Leave the woodpile a little higher than you found it". He was a Korean War Veteran having served in the United States Air Force, was a member of the Greensburg Masonic Lodge #54 F&AM 32nd Degree, Farm Bureau Member, a Kentucky Colonel, and a loving and caring husband and father.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 69 years, Mary Jean Hodges Gardner on August 27, 2022 having united in marriage on May 13, 1953 in Summersville, Kentucky.

Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law: Teresa and Bobby Wade of Indiana; a daughter-in-law: Diana Tucker and her husband, Lanny of Greensburg; a grandson: Benjamin Tucker of Greensburg; sisters-in-law and brother-in-law: Judith and Jerry Resch of Florida, and Sarah Hodges of Greensburg; special friends of the family: William and Dellena Bishop of Greensburg; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Mr. Gardner was also preceded in death by a son: Barry Neal Gardner on October 8, 1981; a brother: Rollin Gardner; and twin sisters: Mildred and Marguerite Gardner.

The family has asked that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the Gideon Bible Fund, Ladies Chapel United Methodist Church Building Fund, or Ladies Chapel Cemetery Fund, which can be made at the funeral home.
