Chris Hicks, Jr., 75, Russell Springs, KY (1947-2022)

Chris Hicks, Jr., of Russell Springs, passed away on Sunday, December 18, 2022, at Ephraim McDowell Medical Center, in Danville. He was 75 years old.

Funeral services are scheduled for 1pmCT on Thursday, December 22, 2022, at Bernard Funeral Home, 367 N. Main St., Russell Springs, KY, with Bro. Scott Proctor and Brentley Goodin officiating. Burial will follow in Bradley's Pleasure Cemetery.

Visitation will be held after NoonCT on Thursday, until time for services.


Chris was born March 12, 1947, in Norfolk, Virginia, son of the late Chris Ed, Sr. and Charlene Burke Hicks. He was a helpful, giving person who had a big heart. He was especially tenderhearted when it came to animals. He and a friend bought food for and fed countless stray cats in town. Chris could always make you laugh by kidding around and cracking jokes.

He is survived by his sons, Christopher Hicks and John A. Hicks, of Oklahoma; his aunt, Betty Nabel, of New York; his nephew, Jeffrey Hicks, of Oregon; and a special friend, June Brewster, of Russell Springs.

Along with his parents, Chris is preceded in death by his sister, Virginia Sue Hicks.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Russell County Senior Center, 132 Brian Walters Drive, Russell Springs, KY 42642.
