Adopt-A-Grandparent at Summit Manor

From Catherine Wibbels
Columbia Rotary Club President

The Columbia Rotary Club has partnered with the Summit Manor Nursing Home located in Columbia, Kentucky and is calling all families, individuals, organizations, churches, businesses, and departments to Adopt-A-Grandparent in need from our community this holiday season!

There are currently approximately 70 residents/grandparents at Summit Manor Nursing Home in need. The Columbia Rotary Club needs your help to make a difference in their lives this holiday season.

I am interested/all-in, but what do I do now?

  1. Contact Catherine Wibbels at cwibbels.rotary@gmail.com or 502-854-3737 stating that you would like to Adopt-A-Grandparent this year!
  2. Pick a Resident/Grandparent. We will provide a list of names and/or try to pair you with someone of similar interests.
  3. Go Shopping! We ask that you spend a minimum of $25 per resident/grandparent. We will provide a small wishlist for each resident/grandparent to help you!
  4. Wrap gifts in wrapping paper or in a gift sack/bag
  5. Bring gifts to Summit Manor Nursing Home located at 400 Bomar Heights Street, Columbia, Kentucky, 42728. Gifts are due by 5pmCT on Friday, December 16, 2022.

Frequently Asked Questions
  1. Can I adopt more than one grandparent/resident? Yes! You can adopt as many grandparents/residents as you would like. We currently have 60 grandparents/residents that are in need of adopting this year. Therefore, any assistance you can provide will help! We greatly appreciate your support and wanting to serve those in our community.

  2. Can I receive a tax write off for my donation? Yes. Tax letters can be made available in recognition of your purchases. Please let Catherine know if you would like a tax letter. Also, note that a copy of all receipts with a total is required to process your letter.

Thank you in advance for your time and for your support! If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out to me. I hope you have a great rest of your day.
