Jimmie Burchell, 88, Liberty, KY (1934-2022) Jimmie A. Burchell of Liberty passed away on Sunday, November 13, 2022, at University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington. He was 88 years old. The funeral service will be held at NoonET on Friday, November 18, 2022, at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Antioch Cemetery. Military honors will be provided by the Casey County Veterans Honor Guard. Born on March 15, 1934, in Bradfordsville, Kentucky, he was a son of the late Homer and Bessie Dermody Burchell. Jimmie was a retired press operator for Formica after forty-two years. He proudly served his country in the United States Army. He was a lifetime member of the Casey County DAV #41 and the Casey County VFW. Jimmie liked to collect marbles, buttons, and baseball cards. He is survived by his wife, Montie Thompson Burchell, who he wed on July 26, 1956; a son, Marcus Burchell of Liberty; a daughter, Judy (and Christopher) Burchell Peyko of Tuscon, AZ; one grandchild, Matthew Peyko; and a sister, Kathryn Yaden of Ohio. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by two brothers, Edward Burchell and William L. Burchell; and a sister, Rachael Foley.
