Football: LWC to celebrate Senior Day with Georgetown matchup

All area veterans with ID will receive free admission to the football game.

The No. 8-ranked Lindsey Wilson football team welcomes No. 16 Georgetown (KY) to Parnell Family Stadium at 1:30pmCT on Saturday, November 12, 2022. Before kickoff, 19 football student-athletes and one manager will celebrate senior day with the ceremony beginning at 1pmCT.

Chris Wells and Bob Boon will be live from the Lindsey Wilson Sports Network for the contest, with the pregame show starting at 12:45pmCT.

The Blue Raiders are 8-4 all-time against Georgetown, including winning eight straight. Georgetown is one of two teams the Blue Raiders have played every season since starting football in 2010. Campbellsville University is the other.

Georgetown's four wins match the most wins against the Blue Raiders by any Lindsey Wilson opponent. Campbellsville and Cumberland (TN) also own four wins.

Lindsey Wilson (second) and Georgetown (eighth) both rank in the top-10 in the NAIA in scoring defense.

Georgetown comes into the game with a 7-2 record as their losses came against Bethel (Tenn.) 24-14 and Cumberlands (Ky.) 24-23. Lindsey Wilson defeated Cumberlands 37-10 earlier this season as their only loss came against Bethel at 21-16.

The Blue Raiders are 21-12 at home against ranked foes and average 39.1 points per game in 77 all-time home games. The Blue Raiders have scored at least 30 points in 40 of their last 45 games at Parnell Family Stadium.

Lindsey Wilson's defense is surrendering 21.4 points per game all-time at home while holding its opponents to single digits 17 times in 77 home games, including four shutouts.

The Blue Raiders have won 34 consecutive games against teams from the Commonwealth of Kentucky. The last Lindsey Wilson loss to a Kentucky opponent came in a 26-21 loss to Campbellsville (Ky.) on Oct. 31, 2015.

On Sept. 16, 2013, Lindsey Wilson football entered the NAIA Coaches' Top-25 Poll at No. 24 and has been in every Top-25 poll since, which covers 3,344 days.
