Gary Elmore Simpson, 65, Green Co., KY (1957-2022)

Gary Elmore Simpson passed away on Saturday, October 22, 2022 in Taylor County. He was 65 years old.

The funeral services for Gary Elmore Simpson will be conducted at 11amCT on Tuesday, October 25, 2022 at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home, 206 S. Main St., Greensburg, KY, with Bro. Mickey Pruitt and Bro. Adam Pruitt officiating. Burial will follow in the Greasy Creek Cemetery.

Visitation is requested from 4pmCT until 8pmCT on Monday, and will continue after 7amCT on Tuesday until time of the funeral service.


Gary Elmore Simpson, son of the late Cecil Simpson and Mary Twyman Patterson Simpson, was born on Saturday, April 13, 1957.

He had made a profession of faith in Christ and was an avid farmer.

Survived by his wife of 39 years, Charlene Kaye Kidwell Simpson, having united in marriage on March 13, 1983.

Other survivors include two sons and a daughter-in-law: Robert Kidwell of Sulphur Well, Gary M. and Krystal Simpson of Pennsylvania; three grandchildren: Courtney Kidwell of Sanora, Serenity Simpson, Brayden Simpson both of Pennsylvania; three sisters and brothers-in-law: Deanie Owens of Edmonton, Mary Ann and Junior Rhinehart of Sulphur Well, Linda and Eugene Robertson of Knob Lick; a brother and sister-in-law: Michael and Melissa Simpson of Sulphur Well; other brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Cindy and Thomas Hughlett of Greensburg, Danny and Allison Edwards of Magnolia, Lanny and April Edwards of Campbellsville, Jason and Corinna Edwards of Columbia; and a host of other relatives and friends.

He was also preceded in death by a brother: Cleston Simpson; a sister: Merlene Turner.

The family has asked that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the Family Burial Fund which can be made at the funeral home.

Pallbearers: Danny Edwards, Lanny Edwards, Jason Edwards, Thomas Hughlett, Tony Estes, Kyle Boston, Junior Rhinehart, Eugene Robertson.
