Erma Gosser, 95, Russell Springs, KY (1927-2022)

Erma Gosser of Russell Springs passed away on Sunday, October 16, 2022, at Fair Oaks Health and Rehabilitation in Jamestown. She was 95 years old.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2pmCT on Sunday, October 23, 2022, at Bernard Funeral Home, 367 N. Main St., Russell Springs, KY, with Brother Joe Gosser officiating. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from NoonCT to 2pmCT on Sunday, October 23, 2022, at Bernard Funeral Home.


Erma was born on April 11, 1927, in Russell County, a daughter of the late Floyd and Della Sullivan Wilson. She was a homemaker and a faithful member of Pine Grove United Baptist Church. Erma enjoyed gardening, canning, and cooking. She also liked to travel and sew in her spare time.

Survivors include seven grandchildren, Angela (and Mike) Ragle of Jamestown, Rhonda (and Scott) Redmon of Russell Springs, Amy (and Mike) Amos of Bowling Green, Beth (and Dirk) Blevins of Russell Springs, Bryan (and Melissa) Smith of Russell Springs, Carla (and Clint) Hart of Russell Springs, and Eric (Keshia) Gosser of Russell Springs; seventeen great-grandchildren; fourteen great-great-grandchildren; a son-in-law, Lane Holt; and a daughter-in-law, Ronella Barger.

In addition to her parents, Erma was preceded in death by her husband, Hubert Ernest Gosser, who passed away on October 30, 1987; two sons, Dwight Gosser and Timmy Gosser; two daughters, Donna Smith and Diane Holt; one grandson, Ernie Gosser; one granddaughter, Sonya Holt; four brothers, Arnold Wilson, Olis Wilson, Oco Wilson, Colvin Wilson; three sisters, Lorcie Roy, Cressie Wilson, and Elga Roy; and three great-grandchildren, Cody Gosser and twins, Steven Dick and Sarah Dick.

Erma's great-grandsons will serve as pallbearers.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Pine Grove Cemetery Fund, c/o Trent Roy, 290 Twin Oaks Lane, Russell Springs, KY 42642.
