LETTER: Adair Marching Band after 16th State Championship this year Teresa Richard comments on details of the major 2005 March Band contests in which ACHS will compete, including State Championship, Bands of America event in Indianapolis Linda, Below is information on the rest of the band's planned season I hope you will share with your readers. Russell County's Contest ended the band's regular season. So we enter the tournament phase of competition for State. We will end this year with a trip to Grand Nationals where bands from allover the United States come to compete. Small bands such as ourstraditionally don't go very far in this. We have in the past won our classwhich is A at BOA and made it to semi-finals occasionally and even rarelymade it to finals, but it is truly just an honor to attend this and at thislevel anything can happen. Next Saturday we will have off for Fall Break. Saturday, Oct. 15th the band will compete in AAA West KMEA Regionals at Madisonville, KY against 15 other bands where only the top eight scoring bands will advance to Semi-finals. Semi-finals will be on October 22nd at Franklin-Simpson High School. There the top eight AAA West bands and the top eight AAA East bands will compete for the 4 AAA spots in Finals held later on the 22nd at WKU Football stadium where hopefully Adair County will win a 16th state title out of only 19 State Championships. On November 10th to the 12th, the band will compete in Bands of AmericaGrand Nationals at the RCA Dome in Indianapolis, IN. On Thursday, the 10thAdair County will compete in prelims with 90 other bands over a two dayperiod for 30 spots in the semi-finals. Semi-finals will be held on Saturday morning to vie for coveted 10 spots in semi-finals which represent the finest bands in America. The top ten bands in the Nation will compete Saturday night for the 2005 BOA Grand National Championship Band. Thanks Again for your Support! It means so much to these kids.
