Marie Gupton, 91, Campbellsville, KY (1931-2022)

Marie Gupton of Campbellsville passed away on Thursday, October 13, 2022. She was 91 years old.

The funeral service will be held at 11amET on Wednesday, October 19, 2022 at Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home, 418 Lebanon Ave., Campbellsville, KY, officiated by Hunter Underwood. Burial will follow in Campbellsville Memorial Gardens.

Visitation is requested from 5pmET until 8pmET on Tuesday, October 18, 2022 at Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home.


Marie Gupton, daughter of the late William Barnes and Mattie Harmon Barnes, was born July 23, 1931 in Russell County, Kentucky.

She professed faith in Christ and was a member of God's Grace Church.

She was a retired worker at Fruit of the Loom where she worked for thirty seven years.

Marie was a devoted Christian who read her Bible often. She was a fantastic mother who always had a smile on her face, enjoyed time with all of her family, but most importantly, loved the Lord.

She united in marriage to Lewis H. Gupton November 12, 1949 and he preceded her in death December 29, 2013.

Marie is survived by two sons: Ronnie Gupton and wife, Lisa of Campbellsville and Jerry Gupton and significant other, Linda Moore of Springboro, Ohio; a daughter-in-law, Edna Gupton; nine grandchildren: Jade Sanders and husband, Neil, Brandon Gupton and wife, Amy, and Michelle Tucker and husband, Frank of Campbellsville, Jason Gupton and wife, Laura of Centerville, Ohio, Sarah Nottingham and husband, Mark of Indianapolis, Indiana, Lindsay Saylor and husband, Brad of Scottsdale, Arizona, Charlie Lininger and wife, Kim of Corydon, Indiana, Hannah Rothrock and husband, Ty of Ramsey, Indiana, and Darren Gupton and wife, Beth of Campbellsville; twenty one great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.

Marie was also preceded in death by a son, Larry Gupton and two brothers and two sisters: Junior Barnes, Oakley Willis, Audrey Barnes Smith, and Aubra Barnes.

Expressions of sympathy requested to be donations to the Alzheimers Association and may be made at Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home.
