Dorothy Wolford, 98, Adair Co., KY native (1924-2022) Dorothy Wolford of Liberty passed away on Wednesday, October 12, 2022, at Casey County Hospital. She was 98 years old. The funeral service will be held at NoonET on Saturday, October 15, 2022, at West Side Christian Church, 966 Campbellsville St, Liberty, KY, with Bro. Marty Shackelford officiating. Burial will follow at Casey County Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 10amET to NoonET on Saturday, October 15, 2022, at West Side Christian Church. Born on May 21, 1924, in Adair County, Kentucky, she was the daughter of the late Grover and Sarah Elizabeth Collins Beard. She was a retired bookkeeper, where she worked at Wolford Brothers for numerous years. She was a faithful member of West Side Christian Church. Dorothy was an artist and above all she was a very dedicated wife and mother. She was highly involved in her church, her community, and stood alongside her husband in the founding and growth of the Casey County Apple Festival. She is survived by two sons, Rodney (Mary) Wolford of Casey County and Mark (Sandy) Wolford of Liberty; four grandchildren, Jason (Lynn) Wolford, David (Vera) Wolford, Sara (Morgan) Pence, and Laura (Joe) Willis; and nine great-grandchildren, Lily, Virginia, Jacob, Elise, George, Maya, Neil, Leora, and Olivia. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, George E. Wolford, who passed away on July 13, 2012; a son, Steve Wolford; two brothers, Rodford C. Beard and David Preston Beard; and a sister, Maxine Malone. Memorial contributions may take the form of donations to the Special Olympics of Kentucky at www.soky.org.
