USDM: Moderate Drought conditions in Columbia Conditions for Columbia worsened from Abnormally Dry (D0) to Moderate Drought (D1), according to this week's U.S. Drought Monitor. Columbia has been in drought for the past week, since October 4, 2022. The Climate Prediction Center's October Drought Outlook, released on September 30, 2022, had predicted that drought conditions would not develop in October. The area is experiencing the 42nd wettest year to date over the past 128 years, for the period from January-August 2022, with 3.39 inches more precipitation than normal.
