Wanda Sue Hazelwood Carter, 72, Greensburg, KY (1950-2022)

Wanda Sue Hazelwood Carter of Greensburg passed away on Friday, October 7, 2022. She was 72 years old.

The funeral services for Mrs. Wanda Sue Hazelwood Carter will be conducted at 1pmCT on Tuesday, October 11, 2022, at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home, 206 S. Main St., Greensburg, KY, with Rev. Charlie Houk and Rev. Justin Dial officiating. Burial will follow in the Warf Cemetery.

Visitation is requested from 4:30pmCT until 8pmCT on Monday at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home, and will continue after 7amCT on Tuesday until time of the service.


Wanda Sue Hazelwood Carter of Greensburg, daughter of the late Rev. John Arthur Perkins and Hazel Pauline Hazelwood Perkins, was born on Tuesday, June 20, 1950.

She had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Oak Grove Separate Baptist Church of the Nolynn Association. She was a homemaker, formerly worked for Fruit of the Loom, and as a nurse's aide at Sunrise Manor Nursing Home.

Survived by her husband of 54 years, Harold Carter of Greensburg having united in marriage on May 25, 1968.

Other survivors include a son and daughter-in-law: Eric and Michele Carter; two daughters and sons-in-law: Tammy Sue and Marty Jeffries, Donna Michelle and Bobby Benningfield all of Green County; two brothers and sisters-in-law: Russell and Joann Perkins, James and Brenda Perkins all of Larue County; twelve grandchildren: Jessica, Danielle, Krystal, Corey, Natalie, Emily, Nathan, Halie, Cassie, Bobby Joe, Jr., Amber, and Ashley; seventeen great grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.

She was also preceded in death by a daughter-in-law: Jenny Carter; two brothers: Joe Perkins and Lonzie Perkins; and a sister-in-law: Denice Perkins.

The family has requested that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the Family Memorial Fund which can be made at the funeral home.
