Keeping and improving health is the focus of activities offered this week

Weight loss and physical fitness classes kick off Monday evening, October 3, at 6 p.m.
Flu shots begin Saturday, October 8


Monday, October 3 at 6 p.m. marks the kickoff of the fall session of Governor Fletcher's "Get Moving Kentucky" program. This season there will be a weight loss program in addition to the exercise program. There's a one-time $10 fee for the whole program. Everyone is invited to get involved. To register or for more information, call 384-2317. Kentucky's Nutrition and Physical Activity State Action Planwas developed using public forum results. See the website http://www.fitky.org to review the state action plan.
Flu shots offered starting SaturdayThe Adair County Health Department will hold a flu clinic at the Adair County Middle School gym (old high school) on saturday, October 8, beginning at 8 a.m. and lasting until the vaccine runs out.

The flu vaccine can only be given to high risk patients according to CDC's Influenza Priority Group since there is a limited amount of flu vaccine available at this time.

Lines are expected, so the health department advises bringing a lawn chair.

To find out if you qualify as an 'at risk' individual who can get a shot on this date, call 270-384-2286.
