German Simpson, 83, Green County, KY (1939-2022)

German M. Simpson of Greensburg, son of the late Lucian A. Simpson and Alice Evelyn Gardner Simpson, was born on Sunday, April 16, 1939 and departed this life on Sunday, September 18, 2022 at his home. He was 83 years, five months, and two days of age.

He had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of Mt. Gilead Baptist Church. He worked for Ford Motor Company of Indianapolis as a Machine Technician for 35 years and after retirement he enjoyed farming.



Survived by his wife of 63 years, Wilda Raney Simpson, having united in marriage on March 7, 1959.

Other survivors include a son: Jeffrey Dean Simpson of Greensburg; a daughter: Tammera D. Vail of Greensburg; three grandchildren: Matthew Vail and Maria of Centerville, Indiana, Nikki Crooks and Matt of Sullivan, Indiana, Justin Simpson and his fiance, Sara of Indiana; four great grandchildren: Ethan Vail, Dylan Vail, Emery Crooks, Colton Crooks all of Indiana; two brothers and sisters-in-law: Wayne and Janie Simpson of Indiana, Junior and Lydia Simpson of Edmonton; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

He was also preceded in death by two brothers: Jim Simpson, Bob Simpson; four sisters: Florence Wyatt, Dilma Harrison, Joyce Akin, and Shirley Long.

The funeral services will be conducted at 11amCT on Saturday, September 24, 2022 at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home with burial to follow in Judd Cemetery. Bro. James Walker officiating.

Visitation is requested after 9 Saturday until time of the service.

The family has requested that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to Hosparus of Green River or Judd Cemetery Fund which can be made at the funeral home.
