Anita Denson Keltner, 94, Columbia, KY (1928-2022)

Anita Denson Keltner of Columbia died on Friday, September 9, 2022 at 4:15 A.M. at Summit Manor Nursing Home. She was 94 years old.

The funeral service will be held at 1pmCT on Tuesday, September 13, 2022, at Grissom-Martin Funeral Home, 200 Campbellsville Street, Columbia, KY, with Bro. David Kemp and Bro. Don Neat officiating. Burial will follow in Haven Hill Cemetery.

Visitation is requested after 5pmCT on Monday.


She was born June 5, 1928, to the late Luther Thomas and Elnora Beulah Ballenger Denson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, George Robert Keltner, her son-in-law, Terry Allen Akin, four brothers, Edwin, Marvin, Wesley and Leslie Denson and four sisters, Pearl Vaughan Miller, Margie Pickett, Ethelean Keltner and Edith Dean Denson.

Anita worked as a hairdresser after receiving her diploma from Kentucky Beauty College in 1946. She was a member of Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church, enjoyed keeping her granddaughters and baking chocolate pies.

Survivors include:
  • Her daughter - Luanna Keltner Akin of Columbia
  • Two granddaughters - Stephanie Sears and her husband Adrian of Somerset, Laura Akin and her fiance Joe Anthony of Bowling Green
  • One great-grandson - Jacob Allen Sears
In lieu of flowers, donations to WHAS Crusade for Children, Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church Building Fund or Gideon Bibles would be appreciated and can be made at the funeral home.
