Golf: Program records fall as LWC women win Blue Raider Invite The Lindsey Wilson women's golf team set multiple team program records and individual best on their way to a dominant win in their season-opening event at the Blue Raider Invite. Hannah Sumner won the individual title with a 6-under mark, finishing the tournament as the only golfer under-par. Lindsey Wilson fired an 865 (287-288-290) to win the event at 13-over. The mark is a new program best scoring total for a three-round tournament which bests a 913 that was set at the same event last season. The Blue Raiders' first two rounds of 3-over and 7-over are the best scoring finishes for a team across an 18-hole round. Sumner posted a 207 (70-67-70) to win the event by seven strokes. Her second round 67 is the lowest round of her Lindsey Wilson career. Katie Biddlecombe finished just behind in second place with a 214 (75-72-67). Her final round today of 67 is also a personal best. Zofia Wojcik finished in fourth place following a 219 (70-75-74). Claire McLaughlin - competing as an individual - and Lauren Holeman tied for seventh place as both totaled 227 strokes. McLaughlin scored a 75-80-72 as Holeman posted a 72-74-81. Megan Mann just cracked the top-10 in 10th place following a 237 (76-82-79). Paige Gray 246 (84-78-84) and Kendall Hacker 290 (92-99-99) competed in the event as individuals. Northwestern Ohio finished in second place with an 891 (295-295-301). Lindsey Wilson returns to the course on Sept. 9-10 when they compete at The Players Club hosted by Taylor University in Noblesville, Indiana. This story was posted on 2022-08-30 21:01:14
