Library announces transition to automation is complete and ready to enjoy

The Adair County Public Library has recently convertedto automated systems which are promised to bevery efficient and easy for patrons to access. Library director Lee Ann Jessee says, "Weare very excited about this new service and we hopeyou will be too!" this announcement comes after over a year of work on the transition.

She adds that, as with any new system, there are always changes (listed below) to making the best use of it.

Questions may be directed to LeeAnn, Jewel, Lisa, Bill or Ernie and they will be glad tohelp.

"We are your public library staff and wewill be glad to help!" Lee Ann says, "We ask that you be patient withus since all of this is brand new to us."

Below are the major changes :

1. You must have your library card with you inorder to check out any materials. You can get a cardanytime the library is open.

2. The system will charge you for overdues on allmaterials.

3. If you lose your library card you must pay $2.00for a new card. Original cards are free.

4. Check-out periods for books and audios is twoweeks. Check-out for DVDs and videos is one week.

Please remember to renew your items before they aredue to avoid any charges.

The library is open Monday 8:00a.m.-6:00p.m., Tuesday-Friday 8:00a.m.-4:30p.m, andSaturday from 8:00a.m until noon.
