Wallace T. Hughes, 80, WWII Veteran, Mason Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 24, 2005 at noon at Grissom Funeral Home for Wallace T. Hughes who died Monday at the home of his daughter. He will be buried with military honors presented by VFW Post 6097. Masonic rites will be held Friday evening at 7 p.m. by Columbia Lodge 96. He was the son of the late Denton and Sadie Thurston Hughes of Adair County, a Veteran of World War II, a member of Lewis Parkland Masonic Lodge #638 in Louisville for 53 years and was retired from General Electric. Mr. Hughes was preceded in death by his wife Mae Lee Kearney Hughes on May 13, 2005. He is survived by his daughter and grandson, Stephanie Hicks and Trevor Hicks of Fort Mill, South Carolina Burial will be in the Columbia Cemetery.
