CU: Harrodsburg Center to host Founder's Fest concert Aug 27

By Gerard Flanagan

Campbellsville University-Harrodsburg is hosting the inaugural Founder's Fest concert from 4pmET until 11pmET on Saturday, August 27, 2022, at Hilpp Family Field, 600 Legion Drive, Harrodsburg, Ky.

The concert's name honors Harrodsburg's legacy as the first settlement in Kentucky.

"We're looking forward to welcoming our students, staff, faculty and community to CU-Harrodsburg for a night of family fun, food and music to celebrate the start of a new academic year," Dalton Christopher, director of athletics at Campbellsville University-Harrodsburg, said.

"We're thankful for our community partners that have helped make this possible. We hope you come out and enjoy a great evening with us at CU-Harrodsburg."

Christopher said Campbellsville University-Harrodsburg hopes to make the concert a yearly event.

Grayson Jenkins, a country, Bluegrass and rock 'n' roll singer from Muhlenberg County, will headline the concert. Other artists performing include Chelsea Nolan, a singer from Stanton, Ky.; Magnolia Vale, a country music sister-duo from Lebanon, Ky.; Lylak, a rock quartet based in Lexington, Ky.; and The Jenkins Twins, a rock 'n' roll band from Irvine, Ky.

Food trucks, as well as arts and crafts and apparel vendors, will be on-site. Other outdoor games will also be available at the concert.

Community Trust Bank, C+C Auto and Mercer County Chamber of Commerce are sponsors for the concert. Admission to the concert is free, but food trucks and vendors might charge. Attendees are encouraged to take their own blankets to sit on for the concert.
