Donald Dell Durrett, 81, Green County, KY (1941-2022)

Donald Dell "Duck" Durrett of Summersville, Kentucky, son of the late Jack D. Durrett and Ida Oakley Milby Durrett, was born on Tuesday, May 20, 1941 in Green County, Kentucky and departed to his heavenly home on Tuesday, August 9, 2022 at his home. He was 81 years, 2 months, and 20 days of age.

He had made a profession of faith in Christ and attended the Liberty Missionary Baptist Church in the Allendale Community. He was retired from General Electric after 42 years of service. After retirement he worked part-time for Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home. He was also a veteran having served in the United States Army.



He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Rita Hash Durrett of Summersville having united in marriage on February 14, 1976.

Other survivors include two sons and a daughter-in-law: Jamie and Tina Durrett, and Jeremiah "Jeremy" Durrett and his girlfriend, Robin Britton all of Green County; grandchildren: Andrew Dial, Leah Dial, Lydia Russell, Breanna Judd, and Hadleigh Grace Durrett; two great-grandchildren: Lukas and Colton Dial; a brother and sister-in-law: Bobby and Patty Durrett of Greensburg; a brother-in-law: Dennis Hash of Louisville; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Donald was also preceded in death by two sisters and a brother: Elaine Brenton, Frances Roy, and J.D. Durrett.

The funeral services will be conducted at 12noonCT Saturday, August 13, 2022 at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Wilson Cemetery. Bro. Joey Bunch and Bro. Randall Jeffries officiating.

The family has asked that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the Wilson Cemetery Fund, Taylors Chapel Cemetery Fund, or the Gideon Bible Fund, which can be made at the funeral home.
