JC VanArsdale, 88, Columbia, KY (1934-2022)

JC VanArsdale of Columbia died on Wednesday, July 27, 2022 at 9:17 A.M. at U.K. Chandler Hospital in Lexington. He was 88 years old.

The funeral service will be held at 1pmCT on Saturday, July 30, 2022, at Columbia Christian Church, 206 Campbellsville Street, Columbia, KY, with Bro. Bobby Withers and Pastor Johnny Hood officiating. Burial will follow in Columbia Cemetery, with full military honors presented by V.F. W. Post 6097.

Visitation is requested from 4pmCT to 9pmCT on Friday, and will continue after 8amCT on Saturday, at Columbia Christian Church.

Masonic rites will be held by Columbia Lodge 96 on Friday at 7pmCT.


He was born February 12, 1934, in Adair County, to the late Everett and Floy Burris VanArsdale. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Paul VanArsdale and four sisters, Rena Carter, Lou Keltner, Judy Miller and Donna Bivens.

JC was a member of Living By Faith Church, a U.S. Army Veteran, a 56 year member of Columbia Lodge 96, a member of V.F.W. Post 6097 and was owner of Dixie Cash & Carry for many years.

Survivors include:
  • His wife of 70 years - Elizabeth Corbin VanArsdale of Columbia
  • One daughter and son-in-law - Lesa and Bobby Withers of Columbia
  • Three sons and daughters-in-law - Daryl and Trudy VanArsdale, Alan and Beth VanArsdale, Kevin and Kesha VanArsdale all of Columbia
  • One sister and two brothers-in-law - Doris and Sonny Miller and Kenneth Russell Miller all of Creelsboro
  • Eleven grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, three great-great grandchildren and expecting two great-great grandchildren very soon
  • His special friend and fishing buddy - Glen Corbin of Columbia
  • Several nieces, nephews, other relative and friends
