Casey Elementary kids are working on help for Katrina victims

The students at Col. Wm. Casey Elementary School are at work helping hurricane victims. Principal Patty Jones shares news of that effort and also one of the special programs going on there as the school year gets going:
  • making packages to send to victims of Hurricane Katrina.

  • Camp Casey is a special after school program available daily

CASEY KIDS HELPING OTHERS: Students at Casey are collecting packages of socks and underwear to send to Katrina victims. Our goal is 600 packages. We encourage those who wish to donate cash to do so at one of the local banks. However, the school will see that any cash sent gets sent to either the Red Cross or the Salvations Army.

A SPECIAL PROGRAM FOR AFTER SCHOOL: Camp Casey begins Tuesday, September 6. The afterschool program will be in operation every school day until the end of the year. Hours are 3-5:00 p.m. For more information contact Dana Harmon at Casey, 384-3367.
