Emogene Miller, 70, retired Cundiff merchant

Emogene Miller, 70, 2776 Melson Ridge Road, Columbia, KY (the Cundiff community), died Saturday, September 3, 2005, at 10:00 a.m., at her residence.

The memorial service will be Monday, September 5, 2005, at 4:30 p.m., at the Shearer Cemetery with Bro. Buford Hadley officiating. Grissom Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.


She was a daughter of the late Russell and Lela Shearer Melson, the widow of Eugene "Wob" Miller, and was a retired merchant operating Miller's Grocery for many years.

Survivors include the following:
  • One daughter: Joan Knopp, Cambellsville, KY

  • One son: Joey Miller, Cundiff

  • Three brothers: Creon Melson, Cundiff, KY; Bobby Melson, Richmond, KY; and Jimmy Melson, Jamestown, KY

  • Two sisters: Betty Vitrano, Columbia, KY; and Rema Ramloul, California
She was preceded in death by a son, Jeff Miller.

At Ms. Miller's request, instead of flowers, donations should be given to the Shearer Cemetery Fund. These may be left at Grissom Funeral Home, 200 Campbellsville Street, Columbia, KY 42728; or given to Creon Melson.

Cremation has been chosen. There will be no visitation.
