William Henderson, 97, Green County, KY (1924-2022)

William Henderson of Summersville, Kentucky, son of the late Ben Henderson and Effie Scott Henderson, was born on Wednesday, October 22, 1924 in Green County and departed this life on Monday, June 13, 2022. He was 97 years, 7 months, and 22 days of age.

He had made a profession of faith in Christ, was a member of the Oak Forest Cumberland Presbyterian Church and was a farmer. Mr. Henderson was also a WWII Veteran having served in the United States Army.



Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 72 years, Annabelle Milby Henderson on April 21, 2020 having united in marriage on June 5, 1947.

Survivors include two daughters and a son-in-law: Rita Reynolds, Myrna and Gary "Sleepy" Quisenberry all of Summersville; two sons and daughters-in-law: James "Buck" and Irene Henderson, and Billy and Debbie Henderson all of Summersville; a nephew: Mike Mitchell of Flatwoods; and a sister-in-law: Peggy Whitlow of Summersville; 10 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Mr. Henderson was also preceded in death by a grandson; two great-grandchildren; a son-in-law: Donnie Reynolds; and a sister: Hortense Mitchell.

The funeral services for William Henderson will be conducted at 1pmCT Thursday, June 16, 2022 at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Wilson Cemetery. Bro. Robert Knight, Bro. Dennis Penick, and Bro. Greg Whitlow officiating.

Visitation is requested after 10 Thursday until time of the funeral service.

The family has asked that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the Wilson Cemetery Fund, which can be made at the funeral home.
